Behold, another way of thinking “outside the box.” Drones can be used for more than just photography, deliveries, racing, and observations. Maybe they can also be used for relaxing?
While drones are poised to change the worlds of commerce and food delivery, perhaps we should be focusing on how they can change the world of luxury as well. That’s the premise of this ingenious Netherlands-based Dutch insurance ad: drone-powered hammocks.
The idea is as simple as it is beautiful, but for now, it’s ony an idea. It’s a hammock that not only can move, but can float just about anywhere. The problem, of course, would be building a series of drones that could hold up a person’s weight—most commercial drones can’t carry more than ten pounds, those that can are built for heavy duty cameras. That, and the noise. For a relaxing time in the hammock, the drones would need to be silent or damn close to it. Otherwise, neighbors would be installing anti-drone measures in a hurry.
